Beyonce, snubbed by various film awards for her role in the movie musical "Dreamgirls," led the field of nominees announced on Tuesday for the 21st annual Soul Train Music Awards, honoring the leading lights of soul, R&B and hip-hop.

Two of Beyonce's three nominations were for her hit single "Irreplaceable," earning nods for best R&B/soul single and for best R&B/soul or rap music video. Her sophomore album, "B'Day," is up for best female R&B/soul album.

Beyonce, who burst on the recording scene as a member of the chart-topping R&B group Destiny's Child, earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role as the Diana Ross-like character in "Dreamgirls," a big-screen adaptation of the Broadway hit musical.

But she lost out to Meryl Streep for "The Devil Wears Prada" in the race for best actress in a musical or comedy, and failed to land an Oscar nomination for her "Dreamgirls" performance.

Competing against Beyonce in the Soul Train R&B single and album categories is double nominee Mary J. Blige. Others receiving two nods each were Chris Brown, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Gnarls Barkley, Yung Joc and the Isley Brothers featuring Ronald Isley.

The awards, determined by a panel of radio programmers, artists and retailers, will be handed out March 10 in Pasadena, California, at a ceremony co-hosted by singers LeToya and Omarion.

The show will be televised in national syndication the week of March 17-24.

Recipients of this year's special honors will be announced separately in the coming weeks. Those honors include the Quincy Jones Award for outstanding career achievements and the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for entertainer of the year.
