"Cars" outraced the competition at the North American box office again this weekend, collecting 33.7 million dollars for a two-week haul of just over 117 million dollars, figures showed. Jack Black's comedy "Nacho Libre" earned 28.3 million dollars in its opening weekend but failed to wrestle the Disney-Pixar automotive adventure from the top spot, box office trackers Exhibitor Relations said. "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," an action movie about drift racing in Tokyo, placed third with 24 million dollars. Fourth was "The Lake House," a romance that reunites "Speed" stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, collecting 13.6 million dollars in its debut weekend. The Jennifer Aniston-Vince Vaughn comedy "The Break-Up" was fifth with 9.8 million dollars in ticket sales across the United States and Canada. Rounding out the top 10 were "X-Men: The Last Stand" (7.8 million); "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" (7.3 million dollars); "The Omen" (5.6 million); "The Da Vinci Code" (5.3 million); and "Over the Hedge (4.3 million). "The Da Vinci Code," Sony Pictures's controversial conspiracy tale of the supposed marriage of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, topped the world box office for a fifth straight week, taking its total ticket sales to some 680 million dollars, the industry daily Variety said.
